Elle: Was I in your tummy when I a baby?
Me: Yes, you were in my tummy when you were a little, tiny baby?
Elle: Was there food in there?
Me: Yes, you had all the food you needed from Mommy.
Elle: How did I get out?
Me: (Oh boy) Well...you...came out of my bottom. (I know, I know, but that is what she calls the "whole area" right now and I didn't feel the need to explain the Va-jay-jay.
Elle: (Scared) I don't want to go back in your tummy. It's dark and scary! (Whiny noises)
Me: Don't worry honey, you don't have to go back.
Elle: Why?
Me: Because once a baby comes out of a mommy's tummy they never go back in.
Elle: Why? Because it costs money?
Me: .........
But she didn't come out of your V-jay-jay....it's so much easier to tell kids about a c-section! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, well in the stress of the moment I completely forgot how I gave birth. Besides, you don't think telling her that they cut her out of my tummy wouldn't be traumatic? Ha!
